MacCMConvert is a Mac OS X graphical front-end for the UNIX program cmconvert (© 2003, 2004 Brian Smith). With cmconvert, users of Smittyware's CacheMate for Palm OS can convert GPX and LOC files (of the kind supplied by geocaching.com) into PDB files for use with CacheMate. Because Mac OS X is UNIX-based, cmconvert can be built and run from the command line (the terminal in Mac OS X). However, MacCMConvert enables Mac OS X users of CacheMate to use cmconvert without having to use the command line for converting their GPX/LOC files. MacCMConvert builds a graphical interface on top of cmconvert that enables quick and easy access to most of the functions in cmconvert. Please note that MacCMConvert does not alter the functions of cmconvert - in fact the underlying code is almost unchanged.
MacCMConvert 2.1 also includes cm2gpx from Smittyware. With cm2gpx you can extract information entered in CacheMate on your PDA to a GPX file on your Mac. See the user manual for more details.
A list of other GPS/geocaching related software that Mac OS X users might find useful can be found here.
MacCMConvert works as a stand-alone application on your Mac - once you have unstuffed the downloaded file simply drag it to wherever you want on your Hard Disk (The Applications folder is recommended). There is no need for you to install cmconvert - it is built in to MacCMConvert!
MacCMConvert has been tested with Mac OS X 10.3.7 and 10.2.8. However, it should (but is not guaranteed to) work with any version of OS X from 10.2 and onwards.
